What Riddle Is

Riddle is a writing tool for capturing notes, outlines, references, and draft fragments into a project folder you choose.

Data The Mac App Handles

The current macOS beta is local-first. It writes captures into the Riddle project folder you select on your Mac. The app stores a security-scoped bookmark so it can continue accessing that folder after you choose it.

If you use voice capture, Riddle asks for microphone and Speech Recognition permission. Voice capture starts only when you trigger it. Dictation is transcribed through Apple's Speech Recognition services.

Website And Support Data

If you email support, join a beta, or buy a founder slot, we receive the information needed to respond, manage access, and process the transaction. Payments are handled by Stripe.

Website Analytics

The landing page uses Datafast to estimate visits. Public website pages also use PostHog for anonymous pageview estimates, not to record your writing or actions in the Mac app. PostHog receives the public hostname and page path without query strings, fragments or referring URLs. Automatic click capture, session replay and person profiles are off. Its collector receives network requests; this is not a promise that your network address is hidden from the provider.

PostHog respects Do Not Track and stays off if this browser cannot safely save the preference. The choice below is stored locally for this browser and hostname; apex and www are separate choices. It does not change the existing Datafast tracking.

JavaScript has not checked this browser's saved choice. No PostHog collector loads without JavaScript.
